FILM2
FILM2, earlier now as Nouvelle Vague, are Betty LaGachette (voice) and Renault Schubert (music) from Berlin.
FILM2 is a new combination of music, lyrics beyond pop cliché and movies, produced for each song, projected onto the performers during the live show – FILM2 act and play in the video. These films are no ‚visual add-ons’ without relation to the music but part of the concept from the very beginning.
The music of FILM2 can´t be described using classical style terms like electronica, alternative etc. - what they do is POP in its original meaning: The musical style of a FILM2 track follows the idea – for example: a kinky phonesex-story like LENA has to be electrodisco with a dark 80s touch, but the existencialist writer’s story of DUSTY TYPEWRITER is more like guitar-driven blues with a typewriter instead of drums.... other tracks sound like a film score – to get the whole thing you have to see FILM2 live – as an audiovisual performance. File under ART POP - but expect beauty as well as raw power and uncensored emotion...
The lyrics of FILM2 are written in three languages (english, french and some german) – FILM2 is an european act based in Berlin.
After three years as NOUVELLE VAGUE more than 50 Liveshows in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, the release of a single and the album LA NOUVELLE VAGUE EXPERIENCE they decided to rename themselves in FILM2, because the french cover version project ‚nouvelle vague’ (which appeared later on the scene) became too successful.
